What Is Cartalax?
A synthetic tripeptide bioregulator with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp (AED), one of the Khavinson family of ultra-short peptides developed at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It is assigned to cartilage and connective tissue; the AED motif corresponds to a sequence found in the alpha-1 chain of type XI collagen, a structural component of cartilage. Like other short peptide bioregulators, it is proposed to act at the level of gene expression.
