An amidated 29-residue peptide corresponding to the N-terminal active fragment of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It binds the GHRH receptor on anterior-pituitary somatotrophs, acting as a secretagogue rather than supplying exogenous growth hormone.
